Unstoppable

The Unstoppable Word

Message Notes

  1. INTRO: “Tsunami”
    1. An underwater wave generated by an earthquake or landslide. The wave can travel at speeds of up to 500 mph. (Jet speed) and only sticks up about one foot above the water.
      1. Mega-tsunami could hit Hawaii, Alaska, and California of over 1000 feet tall. Largest wave on record (July 9, 1958) in Lituya Bay, Alaska, was 1,720 ft., taller than the Empire State Building.
    2. A tsunami is “unstoppable.”
      1. In the book of Acts, we read of the power of the Word of God. On the day of Pentecost, Peter quoted Joel 2:28-32 and 3000 people were saved and baptized.
      2. The power of the Church, the nuclear fuel in the submarine, is God’s Holy, Eternal, Unchangeable, Unstoppable WORD.
  2. The power of a PROMISE.
    1. Heb. 10: 22—“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for HE WOULD PROMISED IS FAITHFUL.”
    2. God cannot lie. It is impossible for God to lie. When He makes a promise, it is intended to be kept. You can trust Him, His Word cannot fail.
    3. 2 Cor. 2: 18-20—“As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”
    4. God makes a promise, Christ is the “Yes.” We say the “Amen.”
    5. Isa. 55:11—“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
  3. The Word in the Book of Acts
    1. SALVATION through the Word
      1. Acts 8: 35: “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.”
      2. Acts 10:44: “While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.” (Reinhard Bonnke preaching in Africa)
    2. HEALING through the Word
      1. Acts 14:3—“So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands”
        1. When we teach and preach the Word about healing, God confirms His Word with signs and wonders. “Faith first, healing second.”
      2. Acts 14: 8—“Now at Lystra there was a man sitting who could not use his feet. He was crippled from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well, said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he sprang up and began walking.”
        1. Sick people need to FEED THEIR FAITH. “He sent His Word and healed them” (Ps. 107: 20).
        2. b) “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom. 10: 17)
    3. DELIVERANCE comes through the Word
      1. Acts 19: 15—“But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”
        1. The WORD has power over demon spirits. You must know your authority in Christ. Satan and all demon powers were defeated by Satan at the resurrection. The only power demons have is the “power of suggestion.”
      2. Acts 19: 19—“And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the WORD OF THE LORD continued to increase and PREVAIL MIGHTILY.”
        1. These books were worth 8.6 MILLION dollars. They burned them, got them out of their houses, removed all fetishes and witchcraft, occult objects from their homes.
        2. “Neither give place to the devil.” (Norvel Hayes and the streaker).
  4. Invitation
    1. God’s Word will set you free HERE TODAY. The Holy Spirit is already moving at every campus because of the power of the WORD.
    2. If you need SALVATION, he’s here. If you need HEALING, he’s here. If you need DELIVERANCE, he’s here.
    3. The tsunami is entering the building right now!

Assets & Files

Part 1: The Effects of Real Conversion

The church is not a building, it’s a movement. Unstoppable, a 5-week journey through the Book of Acts studying the early church, and how the gospel burst out of Jerusalem and into the world—overcoming fear, persecution, politics, and religion.

Part 2: Baptized In Fire

There’s a difference between believing in God and being empowered by Him. In this message, Pastor Jonathan Stockstill reminds us that the Church was never meant to operate in human strength alone. We need the fire of the Holy Spirit — for boldness, for power, and for purpose.

Part 3: Unstoppable Love

The early Church wasn’t just powerful because of miracles—it was magnetic because of love. In Part 3 of our Unstoppable series, we look at how unstoppable love was the glue that united people across every barrier and turned the world upside down.

Part 4: B.O.L.D.

When you've seen Jesus, when you believe in the power of His name, you can't stay silent. From the streets of Jerusalem to our workplaces and schools today, boldness is what makes the Gospel contagious!

Part 5: The Unstoppable Word

Like a tsunami, the Word of God moves with supernatural power—bringing salvation, healing, deliverance, and transformation everywhere it goes. It did in the Book of Acts... and it still does today.

Part 6: Followers Of The Way

Before the early believers were called "Christians," they were known as Followers of the Way—people marked by their closeness to Jesus, their devotion to His teaching, and their willingness to follow wherever He led. In this message, we dive into what it really means to be a disciple in today’s world.

Part 7: The Lesson Of The Empowered Church

The Church was never meant to be built on the shoulders of a few, it was designed to move through the hands and hearts of everyone. In the final message of our Unstoppable series, we unpack Acts 6 and discover what it means to be an empowered Church… where every part of the body is engaged, aligned, and anointed to serve.
