• On the 50th year!
  • Happened once in a lifetime
  • Debts canceled
  • Prisoners released, slaves released
  • Return to land
• This is FAVOR

Luke 4:18–19 (NLT) — 18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.”

Favor

• Etymology - Kindness, Approval, Partiality 
  • FAVORITE comes from the the favor
• A religious word people use
  • “Favor ain’t fair but it sure is fabulous, living life ain’t been nothing but miraculous” - Kim Stratton
• Times you experience favor
  • When you pull into the parking lot and get the space :)
  • When you get unexpected income
  • When the Lord divinely orchestrates an unusual occurrence 

Let’s talk about this phrase - THE TIME OF THE LORD’S FAVOR HAS COME

• The word time - Any-Out-TOS
  • Means Season
• We know about SEASONS

  • Hunting season
• Jesus is initiating the starting of a new season in humanity

Jesus stands up and INITIATES A NEW SEASON - The Season of FAVOR had come

1. FORGIVENESS 
   1. We are living in a dispensation where sins can be forgiven. 
   2. ALL sin can be forgiven, PAST sin, PRESENT sin, FUTURE sin, SMALL sin, GREAT sin
   3. Just so you know, it hasn’t always been like this! 
      1. Satan’s sin is not forgiven
      2. The angels sin is not forgiven
   4. Your sin can be forgiven!
2. ACCEPTED
   1. Cain’s offering wasn’t accepted, Abel’s offering was accepted
   2. Our WORSHIP wasn’t accepted, now when we lift our prayers, our worship, it IS accepted! 
   3. WE weren’t accepted, but now we are accepted.
   4. The father isn’t closed armed, but he is standing with OPEN arms
3. VICTORY
   1. Ephesians 2:1–2 (NLT) — 1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
   2. It STINKS to be on the losing side
      1. I played for the Tornado’s - we lost EVERY GAME lol
   3. Jesus’ victory
      1. Cast out devils
      2. Resisted Satans best temptations
      3. Went down to hell and took the keys of death and the grave
      4. Bursted out of the tomb
      5. Took all of hell’s prisoners along with him!
      6. Gave us POWER TOO
4. OPPORTUNITY
   1. We are living in a season of opportunity 
   2. Opportunity to be saved
      1. 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT) — 2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
   3. Opportunity to be friends with God
      1. Revelation 3:20 (NLT) — 20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
   4. Opportunity to work for Him
      1. John 9:4 (NLT) — 4 We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
5. RESTORATION
1. The whole symbolism here is the year of Jubilee
   1. The property that you once owned and was taken, is now restored
   2. The garden of Eden was our, that relationships was ours, it was taken, but now is restored
2. Your intimacy with God is restored
3. Your immortality is restored
4. Your standing with heaven is restored
5. Your purpose is restored

Back to the verse, but now lets read from Isaiah 

• Isaiah 61:2 (NLT) — 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
• There is another side to this season
• EVERY SEASON HAS A CLOSE!
