Victory of Poverty

Message Notes

  1. Intro: Is poverty good?
    1. 25,000 people a day starve to death. That totals 9 million people every year. They are dying because of the lack of one meal.
    2. Poverty is a killer. Satan is murdering people through poverty and lack. God created the world to provide everything for man but war, disease, and famine are ending the lives of millions.
    3. God has a solution: “super-abundance.” Abundance is God’s economic blessing on a family, a business, or a nation. God did not intend for people to starve to death.
  2. Text: Jn. 10:10
    1. “The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come (the Good Shepherd) that you might have life, and have it in super-abundance.” (Jn. 10:10)
    2. Almalonga: 51:4 to 53:37—super-abundance! 1000% increase in agricultural productivity. All four jails closed. 4 trucks of vegetables a month became 40 trucks a week!
  3. Principles of “super-abundance”
    1. A good Father (Mt. 7:11)
      1. “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will the heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him?” Matt 7:11.
      2. We must change our mentality to a good Father, not a stingy God. He is “El-Shaddai,” not “El-cheapo”!
      3. Every father’s greatest joy is to provide his family with good things. He is super-generous. (Prodigal Son’s father super-abundance)
    2. A good Shepherd (Ps. 23)
      1. “The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all I need.” (v. 1). “He prepares a table before me…my cup overflows with blessings.” (v. 5). The is super-abundance, running to the floor.
      2. We must see ourselves as sheep in His pasture. A good shepherd feeds and leads us well. Jesus fed the 5000 because they were “sheep without a shepherd.” Super-abundance: when they were filled and had 12 baskets left over.
    3. The giving of His Son (Rom. 8:32)
      1. “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, HOW WILL HE NOT also with him graciously give us ALL THINGS” (Rom 8:32)
      2. What you need is NOTHING compared to the cross. If He was willing to give you His Son, why would He provide you with anything you need? (Helicopter in Tibet)
    4. Super-abundance in the wilderness (Ps. 78)
      1. “Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven, and he rained down on them manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven. Man ate of the bread of the angels; he sent them food in  abundance”(v. 23)
      2. “He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them abundant drink like the ocean depths” (v. 15, NASB).
      3. 300 boxcars full of manna every day. To water them and their flocks would take a train 1800 miles long (to Los Angeles), 37 million gallons.
      4. A wide river erupted from a huge rock that followed them. Super-abundance! (Recipe for manna)
    5. Super-abundance in creation (Gen. 1)
      1. “And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.
      2. Data analysts are now saying that the Earth can support 30 billion. God created this planet with no lack of super-abundant resources. We don’t need to go to Mars!
      3. In the 1800’s, bison herds numbered over 60 million. How many bison do you need?
      4. Alaskan Caribou herd: 500,000 in 2004. Springbok herd in S.A.: 2.5 million. Wildebeest: 1 million. Why do you need all of those?
      5. In the 1800s in Southern Ontario, passenger pigeon flock a mile wide and 300 miles long. 14 hours to fly through. 3.5 billion birds. Did Adam and Eve have supply chain issues?
      6. One Atlantic herring school: 4 billion fish. As large as isle of Malta.
      7. Insects move in trillions. Who let their swarm get so big? He’s a big God! On which day did God create lack? “Let there be lack, let there be running out. Poverty, be! Super-abundance!
    6. Super-abundance in sowing and reaping (2 Cor. 9)
      1. “Moreover, God is able to make every grace SUPER ABOUND to you so that you, having always an ALL SUFFICENCY in all things, may SUPER-ABOUND to every good work.” (v. 8, Wuest NT).
      2. God wants to use you as a channel of super abundance for others. He wants to bless your income, your job, your business (Peter’s boat).
      3. “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever” (2 Cor. 9:9).
      4. God wants financial distribution centers. Joseph had super-abundant stores of grain that fed the entire world for seven years!
    7. Super-abundance in the blessing of Abraham
      1. “Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.” (Gen. 13:2)
      2. Abram was not cursed, he was blessed. The blessing was upon all of his investments. Christ died on the cross to take your curse. Your finances are not cursed, they are blessed.
      3. “Christ redeemed us from the CURSE of the law by BECOMING A CURSE for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM might come to the Gentiles (Gal. 3: 13-14).
      4. “I have a good Father…I have a great Shepherd….the Father gave His Son…He fed Israel in the wilderness… He created flocks and herds…I’m His channel to the world…I’m under the blessing of Abraham!” (SUPER ABUNDANCE)
  4. Invitation
    1. The thief wants to steal, kill and destroy your life. Like the village of Almalonga, you may be in bondage and in darkness. Jesus said He came that you might have “life, and have it super-abundantly.”
    2. Is that your desire? Are you ready to come out from under the dark oppression of Satan and into the blessing and light of Jesus? IT’S YOUR CHOICE.

Part 1: The Ten Toes Of Victory

You were never meant to live on the defensive, God has given you authority to take ground and walk in victory. In Week 1 of our new series Boot Camp, Pastor Larry Stockstill kicks off with a bold reminder: the enemy fears you when you're standing on the Word of God.

Part 2: Victory Over Poverty

Poverty isn't a virtue, it's a weapon the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came so that we could have life in abundance. In Week 2 of our Boot Camp series, Pastor Larry Stockstill unpacks the Biblical foundation for abundance, not greed, but God's provision to meet your needs and empower you to bless others.

Part 3: Victory Over Fear, Doubt, And Unbelief

Fear is paralyzing. Doubt is deceiving. Unbelief is disabling. But God has called us to live by faith, not shrink back in defeat. In Week 3 of our Boot Camp series, Pastor Larry Stockstill teaches how to fight back against the internal battles that hold us hostage, reminding us that faith is a choice, not a feeling.

Part 4: In Christ

What if the greatest victory isn't something you fight for, but something you already have? In the final message of our Boot Camp series, Pastor Larry Stockstill takes us into the highest understanding of faith: knowing what it means to live "In Christ."
