A Waiting World

Run the Play

Message Notes

  1. “After this…”—something new on the horizon.
    1. Have you ever wondered why Christ chose 70 of His followers out of the multitudes who He fed and healed? The ministry of Christ was moving to “Multiplication.”
    2. How do we be a part of the multiplication movement? What were the qualities He was looking for? What were the instructions He gave them? What were the results of His deputizing 70 people and how can we be a part of that multiplication?
  2. “Seven lessons for the seventy” (Luke 10: 1-20)
    1. “TWO”--the MENTORING of multiplying.
      1. “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go…”
      2. YOU NEED A TIMOTHY. Paul always took a younger disciple with him to train him in his “ways.”
      3. “Two” is the number of mobilization. Jesus knew that people do 10 times better in pairs. Who is your “yoke fellow?” Who would you like to be paired up with to do the work of the Kingdom of God (Paul and Silas, Jonathan and his armor bearer, buddy system in the military).
      4. “Two are better than one, they have a good reward for their labor. If one falls, the other will lift him up” (Eccl. 4: 9). We should send out small group leaders in pairs, a leader and a Timothy. Every position in the church must have a Timothy being trained for the next step. (Chris)
    2. “HARVEST”—the MANDATE for multiplying.
      1. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” (Luke 10: 2)
      2. We have to focus our eyes on the harvest:
        1. “Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together…” (Jn. 4: 35)
        2. 44 lines around the world. “God won’t be mad at you if you leave what you’re doing and go help gather in the harvest!”  (T.L.Osborne). Don’t let the devil confuse you with any doctrine that stops your mandate (universalism, Acts 1:8, hyper-Calvinism.)
    3. “PRAYER”—the MOTIVATION of multiplying.
      1. “Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest (Luke 10: 2). WHEN PEOPLE START TO PRAY, GOD STARTS TO SEND THEM OUT. (Your prayer base in the church: prayer and fasting events, personal intercessors, prayer tracks).
      2. The word, “Send forth” is really “cast out” (like “cast out” demons). We do need to “cast out” demons, but we really need to “cast out” some laborers who are hanging around the bunkhouse!
    4. “FAITH”--the MONEY of multiplying.
      1. “Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road…” (Luke 10: 4). What are we going to eat if we just go around reaping the harvest? LIVE BY FAITH!
      2. “Faith” is also critical in mobilization for the harvest. Jesus asked them later, “When I sent you out with no purse or shoes or moneybag, DID YOU LACK ANYTHING? (Luke 22:35).
      3. He did that to prove their faith in them in practical ways. Leaders must learn faith, living by faith, walking by faith. (Testimony of a million-dollar gift to Bonnke).
    5. “HOMES”—the METHOD of multiplying.
      1. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. (Luke 10: 5-7)
      2. “House of peace”—The church must move outside the building. The laborer must find a home, a headquarters, in which to base their ministry. Don’t move around so people can’t find you. Stay put in one house that you select as your base of operations.
      3. Small groups win souls and make disciples (Our testimony of 1300 small groups).
    6. “HEALING”—the MIRACLES of multiplying.
      1. “Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ (Luke 10: 9)
      2. My testimony of healing
      3. Healing is a KINGDOM TRADEMARK. It is our “calling card.” “Gifts of healing” are “set in the church.” (Healings are not for today. If faith for today?)
      4. Everywhere you go, you should be praying for the sick. You should be building your faith for miracles. One miracle can open an entire city.
    7. “AUTHORITY”—"the MASTERY of multiplying.”
      1. “The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons aresubject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you AUTHORITY to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the ABILITY of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you” (Luke 10: 19)
      2. “Authority”--The last element of multiplying is “authority,” power over Satan. “AUTHORITY OVER ABILITY.” Jesus equipped His harvesters to know their position in Christ, to use His name to cast out devils. “Resist the devil and he will flee.”
      3. If there was a rattlesnake in your home, would you go on to bed? (Piece be steel)! This is our position in Christ. (Snake on the ship in Brazil).

A Waiting World

Every generation longs for meaning — and every believer is sent on mission. In A Waiting World, we rediscover that God is a sending God. From the moment He sent His Son into the world, His heart has been to send His people into every corner of the earth with His message of love and hope. This series invites us to embrace the joy of being chosen, to trust God in the tension of going, and to partner with His Spirit in power and purpose. We’ll see that the mission isn’t a burden to bear but a deep source of joy — because when we go where God sends, heaven moves through us. The world is waiting. God is calling. And the harvest is ready.

Part 1: The Joy of The Mission

In this message, Pastor Jonathan teaches that mission is not only a calling, it's a joy. We are chosen by God, empowered by His Spirit, backed by His authority, and filled with joy as we see Him move through us. When we step into His mission, we discover purpose, partnership, and supernatural joy that nothing else on earth can offer.

Part 2: The Heart of God's Mission

Even with more churches, more Bibles, and more resources than ever before, the Great Commission still isn't finished. In this powerful message, Pastor Jonathan calls us back to the heart of God's mission, to reach every nation, every person, and every soul with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Part 3: The Strategy of Heaven

Heaven has a plan, and it's called the Church. In this powerful message, join us as we unpack how God designed the Church as His divine strategy to display His glory, push back darkness, and reach the world. You’re not just in the Church, you're part of the strategy.

Part 4: Run The Play

You are not called to sit on the sidelines. You are called to go, to carry the Gospel, and to operate in the same power and authority Jesus gave His disciples. Everything changes when you run the play God has handed you.
